i was hoping the first picture i would post of the house would show lovely tulips in bloom along the front yard, but no, mother nature has decided it would be snow. this is our 3rd snowfall since our move back. i am ready for spring. last week was a tease. a couple of sunny days in the 60's sent me out jogging around the local lake and walking around the house in flip flops. today, however, noah spent a good part of the afternoon shoveling our driveway while ezra cleaned off the front bushes.
earlier, we decorated easter eggs. this year's theme... star wars. the boys wanted august and hazel and ella to see their masterpieces. these are the eggs that survived either being dropped on the kitchen floor or eaten by hungry boys.
tonight for dinner, i pulled out the trusty "america's test kitchen cookbook". i made the skillet chicken, broccoli and ziti. very yummy. this recipe helps you avoid the typical tough chicken, soggy broccoli, and overcooked ziti that can happen with this type of dish. it really came out great. i substituted the roasted red peppers for sun dried tomatoes. even though the boys weren't super crazy about it, tim and i really enjoyed it.
