Look Who's Nine!

We had fun celebrating Ezra's 9th birthday this weekend! On Friday, we took the boys and a few school friends to see Puss and Boots in 3D. After, we came back to the house for Domo cookie cake, made again by our creative friend Debbie, and for some play time. On Sunday, we had a family party for our special guy. I think Ezra's favorite gift was Just Dance 3 for the Wii from Nonnie. He is back in a great hip hop class this year and loves to bust a move! We love you Ezra! XO

Welcome Luke!

Meet Luke, our sweet 4 month old Italian Greyhound. We have had him for one week- one LONG week. All he wants is love and cuddles, but right now we are working hard to potty train him!

Oona draws people!

While practicing the letter O, Oona stopped to show me how she now can draw people :)

Halloween 2011

This year, for the first time, the big boys begged to trick-or-treat on our street by themselves. They also went to the store with friends and picked out and paid for their costumes on their own (Ezra is Michael Jackson, and Noah is a wizard that made O scream every time he came near her- hence, she is not in the picture with them)! Man, they are growing up so quickly. Well, at least Tim got to take Super Oona out for some treats :)

Side note: We gave the boys a one hour time limit, and they were back after only 35 minutes :)

October storm

Complete with power outages, fallen trees, and the rush to dig out snow clothes... This summertime girl is not ready for this!

Hello Three!

This Saturday, we celebrated Oona's 3rd birthday- Hello Kitty style! The party was complete with family and friends, a Hello Kitty cookie cake made by our friend Debbie, crown decorating, a dance party and pin the bow on Kitty. It is so much fun watching you grow, Oona! We love you so much!

O and the goat

Oona fell in love with this goat at the Franklin Park Zoo on Sunday. She did not want to leave her!

Pumpkin Carving

This week, we had our annual pumpkin carving with Auntie Cindy. We love having our talented/creative friend come down and help us with this messy task! Oona requested a ghost and a Hello Kitty. Ezra carved Domo and Noah a goblin. We also toasted pumpkin seeds, ate a Carvel Halloween ice cream cake from Cindy, and watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Fun night :)

Family Time

Man, it seems the older the kids get, the more challenging it is to find family time together- with no homework, no work, no running to a friend's house, no housework... (You get the picture). So, today I told Tim I "needed" us to all get out of the house for a little family fun. We headed into Somerville for brunch at Mr. Crepe before watching the parade at the HONK festival, followed by a subway ride into Harvard Square. Wonderful :)

My baby started Preschool!

Oona started her first day of preschool today! On Tuesday, she really enjoyed the one hour mom and child orientation. Her two teachers are so sweet and nurturing, and the classroom is full of wonderful child centered activities. Today was her first morning alone (8:30-11:30). She went in eager, but when I went to pick her up, I saw through the window that she looked a bit sad. When she saw me, she cried. Her teacher said she did great all day, but just got a bit tired and weepy for me at the very end of the day. She seems to like it a lot (talked about playing with the baby dolls, new friends, drawing), but it will probably take some getting used to- just like all changes and new experiences. As for me... I held it together, went to the gym, missed her a bunch, kept checking the time, but was excited for her too :)

Apple picking

On Labor Day, we picked apples at Russel Orchards in Ipswich. It was a bit early in the season, but we got some delicious McIntosh and Galas which were later turned into a scrumptious apple crisp! After picking, we spent the rest of the day riding the waves at Crane's Beach... soaking up the last of the summer!
